Police Detain 6 Jewish Youths at Temple Mount, Seek to Hold them Overnight

reposted from Israel National News
2/1/2015, Shevat 12, 5775

Police have announced this evening (Sunday) that six Jewish youths they detained this morning at the Temple Mount will be held over in custody, according to reports by the Honenu organization.

The six, five of whom are minors, have complained that representatives of the Waqf attacked and cursed at them, and that the police arrested them when they demanded that the attackers cease. Police claim that the six were arrested for "disturbing the peace", and for failure to follow orders. Honenu attorney Rehavia Piltz arrived at the police station to advise the detained youths.

Police interrogated the six, afterward announcing that they would continue to hold them in custody overnight. In response, Attorney Adi Keidar has filed an urgent appeal demanding the immediate release of the boys.
