Jerusalem Police Act on Rumor
|
|
reprinted from Arutz Sheva (IsraelNN.com) A rumor that Revava Temple Mount activists are planning to visit the Holy Site today set off a police response. Hundreds of Muslims on Sunday barricaded themselves on the Temple Mount complex ahead of the expected visit of the Jewish Temple Mount activists. Police deployed hundreds of border police and other units in and around the Temple Mount area to prevent Revava members from reaching the site, admitting the report of the planned activity is nothing more than a rumor. Police indicated last night they were imposing restrictions on the Temple Mount today, only permitting Islamic worshipers 45-year-old and older and carrying Israeli identity cards. |
