Public Security Minister Yitzchak Aharanovich (Yisrael Beteinu) asked Mks Tuesday to be a "calming force," as opposed to an inciting one, when it came to the Temple Mount. Aharanovich was responding with a number of calls to order by Mks protesting the events on the Mount last week, with Arab Mks condemning police for allowing Jews onto the site, and rightwing Jewish Mks demanding more Jewish access to the Mount.
"I appeal to all of you, from all sides of the political spectrum: Be careful when discussing the Temple Mount, and do not begin a fire there. Be a calming influence, not one that causes incitement. We need to lower the volume, and the profile of the issue," Aharaonovich said.
