Police receive intelligence information about Arabs planning riots following Friday prayers.

Police will restrict the entry of Muslim worshippers to the Temple Mount on Friday, after receiving intelligence information which indicates that Arab youths plan to riot and cause disturbances.

In the wake of the information, the Commander of the Jerusalem District of the police, Moshe Edri, announced that only men aged 40 and over and women of any age will be allowed to enter the Temple Mount compound.

Police and Border Guard officers will be deployed in large numbers in eastern Jerusalem and the Old City to prevent any disturbances.

Tensions have been on the rise in Jerusalem in recent days as the “silent intifada” rages on.

On Thursday, masked Arab rioters launched a barrage of potentially lethal rocks on the Jewish neighborhood of East Talpiot, which is located in the south-east of the capital and to the south of the Old City, and which has Arab neighborhoods adjacent to it on several sides.

On Wednesday, Abdelrahman Shaludi, a Hamas terrorist, injured nine Israelis by running over them in his car at the Ammunition Hill light rail station. One of the wounded, three-month-old baby Chaya Zisel Braun, later died of her injuries.

The Temple Mount has been at the center of many of the Arab riots as part of the “silent intifada”. A week and a half ago, police stormed the Temple Mount and locked them inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The youths had collected rocks and fireworks and prepared firebombs, which they stored inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to use them against police and interfere with non-Muslim visits to the Mount.
