Temple Mount to Be Closed to Jews After 9 AM
|
|
reprinted from Arutz 7 (IsraelNN.com) During the upcoming holiday of Sukkot, Jews will be barred from entering the Temple Mount in Jerusalem after 9 AM due to the Moslem holy month of Ramadan. The Temple Mount contains JudaismÕs holiest site. MK Uri Ariel (National Union) reacted to this restriction and said, ÒWe are talking about a total cave-in to the Muslims for Ramadan in spite of the expectation of masses of Jews wishing to visit the Temple Mount. MK Ariel visited the Temple Mount on Thursday together with hundreds of students from the Maaleh Adumim Hesder Yeshiva. Hundreds of Jews have visited the Temple Mount in the last few days and thousands have participated in circling the gates of the old city on the eve of Rosh Hashana. Yom Kippur prayers will be conducted in a synagogue located on the Temple Mount site. |
