Noah's Sacrifice after the Flood

Generations passed, and the earth became filled with sin and corruption, leading to the flood. Noah and his household and all that was with him on the ark were saved, and upon departing from the ark Noah expressed his gratitude to G-d by offering a sacrifice, according to tradition, on this same altar. On that occasion G-d declared a covenant with all humanity and swore never again to bring a flood upon the entire earth (Gen. 9).
