At the time of Korach's controversy, Aaron's staff blossomed and budded with flowers and almonds. This staff was placed in the Holy of Holies as a memorial and as testimony to the selection of Aaron's descendants for the priesthood for all time. (Source: Numbers 16, 16-26)
