elcome to Mikdash Kids, the Temple Institute's special web pages for kids. The Holy Temple which stood on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem was for nearly a thousand years the physical and spiritual center of the nation of Israel. Despite its destruction almost two thousand years ago, it is still to this very day the focus of the prayers and yearnings of the Jewish people all over the world. Why? What is so special about the beit hamikdash - the Holy Temple - that we so desire to rebuild it and to renew the avodah - the Divine service - that once took place within its courtyards? And most importantly, what does the beit hamikdash have to do with you?
