The Temple Haggadah

by Rabbi Yisrael Ariel. Translated into English by Rabbi Chaim Richman
$50.00 (including air freight)
Hard Cover, 134 pp, full color

The Passover Seder, observed by the Jewish people the world over, is celebrated as one of the most festive family occasions of the entire year. But one important facet is missing: the experience which was the Passover celebration in Jerusalem's Holy Temple.

Great numbers of holiday pilgrims, who ascended to Jerusalem from the Land of Israel and from the farthest reaches of the Diaspora, all celebrated Passover together in the courtyards of the Holy Temple, and their multitudes filled the streets of Jerusalem.

The entire assemble participated in the Passover sacrifice that was offered within the Temple. They watched the priests perform the sacred duties, and heard the songs of the levitical choir, their own glad voices joining in with the joyous prayers of thanks that resounded from the hills around Jerusalem.

When the ceremonies inside the Holy Temple were concluded, the pilgrims parted company and withdrew to their festive circles, each group carrying its Passover sacrifice. The participants made preparations to observe the Seder in Jerusalem, to relate the wonders of the exodus from Egypt, and to partake of the Passover sacrifice. At midnight, sounds of the joyous Hallel prayers of thanks could be heard from every home and courtyard, until it seemed that every roof in Jerusalem was bursting with song.

The Temple Haggadah seeks to rekindle some of this special holiday spirit for our own generation, for after almost 2,000 years of exile, it has almost been forgotten.

With the aid of The Temple Haggadah and its enlightening illustrations - made especially for this book - the family Seder becomes a memorable journey through the Jewish people's glorious past, back to the era of the Holy Temple, to taste something of the experience which was the Passover celebration in days past.

Siddur Hamikdash L'Em Ulebat(Hebrew)

by Rabbi Yisrael Ariel
$51.00 (including air freight)
Hard Cover, 417 pp, full color

Throughout the generations, the Jewish woman has played an essential role in the spiritual shaping of the Jewish people. Each and every Jewish household receives its character and strength from the Jewish woman who stands at its center. Historically, as well, going back to the time of the Tanach, individual women have stood out as saviors of our people, and as radiant examples of Torah faith and dedication.

As in the case of Jewish men, it is incumbent upon Jewish woman to fulfill the holy obligation of engaging in prayer before Hashem. In the passing of generations, as a result of historical and social developments, Jewish women have participated less actively in the daily obligation of prayer. In our generation, however, as modernity has graced us with more leisure time, many righteous Jewish women have reclaimed for themselves the mitzva of daily prayer.

The Temple Institute's Siddur Hamikdash L'Em Ulebat, has been created with the intention of accommodating the Jewish woman at prayer. Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, founder of The Temple Institute has written a commentary rich in illuminations and insights into the daily prayer service. Woman's daily, Shabbat, and holiday prayer obligations are clearly explained. The historical role of the Jewish woman, beginning with the matriarch Sarah, are expounded upon, as is the significant role played by the women of Israel in the Holy Temple that stood in Jerusalem. Truly a must in every Jewish household, and a perfect bat mitzva gift.
