Police Extend Ban on Young Arabs at Temple Mount

reprinted from Arutz 7
Oct/07/09

Jerusalem police have extended restrictions on Muslims visiting the Temple Mount in an effort to prevent further violence against Jews. Tourists will not be allowed at the site, and entry will be restricted to Muslim women and to men who are over the age of 50.

Police are preparing for possible riots following the court order Tuesday night prohibiting Islamic Movement leader Sheikh Raad Salah from entering the city for 30 days. A Jerusalem court rejected police requests that he be kept under custody during an investigation on charges of inciting violence and rebellion following more rock throwing riots in eastern Jerusalem.
