Bill Against Destruction of Temple Mount Antiquities

reposted from Arutz 7
Av 3, 5773, 11/07/13

Member of Knesset Orit Struk (Jewish Home - National Union) filed on Wednesday a motion concerning the destruction of antiquities on the Temple Mount by the Muslim Waqf. In a speech to the Knesset, MK Struk decried the phenomenon of the Waqf using bulldozers to remove vast loads from the Temple Mount and dumping it elsewhere.

"They do not do this by accident or lack of attention," MK Struk stated. "These actions are part of a practice called in Arabic "erasing signs," namely the elimination of the remains of civilizations that preceded Islam. They are trying to delete the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount. Why are we silent?"

The Temple Mount is the holiest site in Judaism and currently the home of the Al Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock which are under the jurisdiction of the Waqf.
