UN: Israel Did Not Damage Temple Mount

reprinted from Arutz 7
23 Adar 5767, March 13, '07

(IsraelNN.com) Israel Antiquities Authority workers have not damaged the Al-Aksa mosque, or any other structure on the Temple Mount, confirmed a United Nations committee.

UNESCO investigators were sent by the world body to inspect the repair work being carried out on a broken footbridge leading from the Rambam (Mughrabi Gate) in the Old City near the Temple Mount. The team visited the site in response to allegations by enraged Muslims that Israel was damaging the mosque.

Archaeologists are continuing excavations intended to find and preserve artifacts that may be uncovered during the construction process.
