Rabbi Ariel Permitted to Ascend Temple Mount Again

reposted from Arutz 7

Rabbi Yisrael Ariel of the Machon Hamikdash (Temple Institute) has been allowed to return to the Temple Mount. He was banned by police some four months ago when he attempted to pray on the Temple Mount. Also permitted to visit the Mount again is Rabbi Yosef Elbaum, who was also banned by police.

A report Sunday morning said that a Jewish visitor to the Temple Mount had been arrested on charges of praying. According to the Honenu legal rights organization, a Muslim cleric claimed that the Jew's lips had been moving, indicating that he was praying. The Muslim informed a police officer, who arrested the Jew for the offense of praying, which is forbidden to Jews on the Mount. The detainee was taken to a police station in the Old City. He is being represented by a Honenu attorney.
