'Third Temple' Crowdfunding Plan Aims to Relocate Jerusalem's Dome of the Rock

reposted from Aljazeera
July 30, 2014

Organisation's Indiegogo campaign says 'Third Temple' will bring peace.

Twitter users are questioning one group's aspirations to "rebuild" the 'Third Temple' in place of the Dome of The Rock and surrounding mosques on what Jews call the Temple Mount. The Temple Institute says building this will "usher in a new era of universal harmony and peace" in the Middle East. But there is one catch: "the Temple Mount has to be cleared (link is external) of the Dome of the Rock and the mosques which are presently located upon it before the physical rebuilding of the Holy Temple can begin".

The organisation adds this will only be done with "the acquiescence of the Moslem world" and any Muslim structures will be disassembled and reassembled at another location. They aim to raise $100,000 with an Indiegogo campaign to develop blueprints for the creation of the temple and its "60 sacred vessels".
